It’s so easy to want to blame others for the way we feel. And also to excuse ourselves when our feelings negatively impact people in our lives. We tell ourselves things like “they make me so mad!” and “if they would just do xyz, I could be happy. We say things like “I couldn’t help but yelling, I had a bad day!” and “If you just did what I told you, I wouldn’t be upset right now!”
The truth is, your positive vibe is your responsibility. No matter who in your life is negative or how much you think they are making you feel a certain way, it is still your job to handle your own vibration. This also means that just because you are feeling down or irritable or “hangry”, it’s not ok to put that icky vibe all over people around you.
I’m not saying that we don’t influence each other. Of course all humans’ energy fields interact all the time, and we are meant to connect and collaborate. I am saying that if we all were able to remember that we are powerful beings and are capable of maintaining a high, positive vibrational frequency no matter who or what is around us, our world would be an even more lovely and magical place.
All day long we are interacting with and feeling each other’s energy. The thing that we sometimes forget, is that just because someone is feeling negatively or saying negative things to us, we are still able to let it bounce right off and maintain our own unique energetic system. We are also able to maintain our energy system when triggered ourselves, so that we don’t create a negative energy ripple in our family, workplace, or community.
As we continue to evolve in our ability to maintain a more and more positive vibration regardless of those around us, we are making an impact on the world. In this way we energetically give others permission to follow our lead. We increase the feeling of love, compassion and connection on the planet which helps all of us continue our conscious evolution.
Some ways to make sure you are taking responsibility for your own vibe are:
1. Don’t take it personal:
I mean I know this is easier said than done, but it really is possible with time and consistent practice.
Just remember, if you are feeling triggered or angry and want to blame someone else for how you feel, it is about them and not you.
Picture them as a wounded toddler, acting out, this will increase your compassion for them and decrease your frustration. We are all just trying our best to get our needs met the only ways we know how.
Remember you are a powerful soul, visualize yourself surrounded by white light, and energetically “return to sender” any energy that you don’t want.
2. Check in with your own feelings:
When you feel triggered and out of alignment, it is generally a sign of an unhealed wound or emotion that just needs to be paid attention to. Slow down, get quiet, and ask yourself what you are feeling.
3. Take care of yourself:
Once you know how you feel, find a way to take care of and nurture your own feelings.
This will help you not just to feel better in the moment, but also to stop from projecting the hurt you just perceived and experienced onto someone else in your world.
This transforms any negative energy into a positive vibrational ripple of energetic frequency that spreads outward and grows, increasing the consciousness of humanity!
4. Check yourself before you wreck yourself (and others):
Any time you notice yourself feeling out of this positive alignment, again do a check in. Nurture your own feelings before you spread them to others.
This doesn’t mean to not get support when you need it. What it does mean is to come to as much internal peace around a trigger as you can, so that you don’t react with irritability, frustration or anger to those around you, and you keep the good vibes flowing for everyone.
Let’s keep the vibe high y’all! You can do it, it’s way more fun anyway, and it helps everyone evolve!
