Every moment is an opportunity to connect to peace or frustration.  A choice between fear or love.  A choice between freedom or restriction.  Life is a spiritual practice and we all get to decide if we want to fight against
this flow, or join it and learn from it.

It’s always a good time to practice this, and with all that is going on in the world and the news at this moment,
it’s so important to keep your vibe high and not attach too much to any of the fear that is so heavy out there
right now.

We can see what’s happening and stay in a state of fear and judgment “why is this happening” and “are things
going to get worse” and “what is wrong with those people.” Or we can see life as what it is, a reflection of us, and use it to rise higher.

Everything could be a “trigger.”  Of course we need to be mindful and sensitive to ours and others tender places.  At the same time, our triggers can be our greatest teachers.  They are reminders of places that we
need to pay special attention to, or give some nurturing too, or just let flow right on through us.

Allow these triggers to be triggers of positive self-care practice.  Let them be a reminder to you to give yourself some love and forgiveness.  To take some deep breaths and remind yourself “all is well in this moment, I am loved beyond measure.”

Rather that bringing you down, stopping your day, and creating negative thought spirals, instead your triggers can be the pathway into spiritual growth and transcendence.

Some ways to put this into practice are:

1. Pay Attention:

Practice mindfulness first.  Just practice being a non-judgmental observer to your triggers.

Keep a journal of moments when you notice your energy get tight and constricted.  What just happened? What were you thinking and feeling?

Creating awareness of the patterns of your triggers prepares you to begin the process of transforming them into portals to expanded consciousness.

2. Keep Your Vibe High:

As you start to create awareness of when and how your energy system gets triggered, it’s also very important to work on feeling good.Lady meditating in a grassy area, overlooking a beautiful mountain ridge with the sun peering through a cloudy sky above.

The better you feel the majority of the time, the easier it will be to notice your triggers, and shift them in the moment.

You are building a resilient energy and nervous system, that will allow you to quickly bounce back to a frequency of love instead of staying in the negative trigger spiral.

This is a very individualized process, only you know what brings you joy and lifts your frequency, but some necessary ingredients to a consistently high level of energetic vibration are:

~ Regular meditation

~ Time in Nature

~ Positive community

~ Thinking positive thoughts

~ Frequent joy and laughter!

3. Bring in the Light:

Once you have established more of an understanding of yourself and your triggers, it’s time to start practicing.

One easy way to start is, when you notice your energy constrict, wiggle your toes, and imagine beautiful white light entering your toes from the earth, and gently streaming up through your whole body.

Place your hand on your heart, take three deep breaths and remind your energy system, silently or out loud: “It is safe to expand, I am one with the Universe.”

Your energy body just needs some reminders sometimes.  It’s going through a lot right now, so be kind and tender with yourself as you remind it that it is always safe, and love is all there is.

4. Remember it’s Always About You:

When we get triggered, it’s about us.

When we get triggered, it’s about us.

This doesn’t mean that there are not energy vampires out there, and mean people, of course there are! Slow motion image of a drip slashing in water.

It does mean that when we feel victimized by someone or something, rather that project the problem onto them, it’s an invitation to get curious with yourself instead.

For example, if someone is being mean to you, instead of getting mad at them, ask yourself “What in me believes what they say?”  and “How can I be kind and nurturing to myself in this moment, while holding healthy boundaries in this situation?”

The suffering only stays with us if we believe what they are saying.  If we know it’s not true, we can love ourselves, and still say to the person “I didn’t like how that felt.”

The more neutral we can be about it, the less suffering happens.

5. Take it Lightly:

As you move through this process, you will naturally start to see more separation between your thoughts and your consciousness as the observer of these thoughts.

You will begin to see the humor and cuteness of some of these thoughts that you used to take sooo seriously.

You being to laugh at yourself in a gentle way, beginning to remember that the truth of who you are is never the fear based thoughts that dominate your brain much of the time.

This lightness and humor is a natural part of the evolutionary process, and means you are understanding even more that you are not your thoughts!

6. Spread the Light:

As you build these reserves of inner peace, it naturally starts to shine outwards.  People can feel it, and you will also feel more of a drive to share your light with the world.Silhouette of a woman in front of a purple sky, looking up.

This in one of the beautiful benefits of doing your own inner work.  You become so light and peaceful and beautiful, that it helps to shift the vibration of those around you.

You become a part of the global awakening of consciousness on the planet, helping us all to evolve!

This can be a fun practice if you can take it lightly!  We are meant to take things lightly, we are here to have fun, spread joy and light and love.

Have fun allowing your triggers to transform you!
