The Universe is always there trying to send us messages, to speak to us, to help guide us to allow the potential of our higher selves to emerge.  We are usually much too busy doing really important things, like looking at our phones, or worrying about whatever, to pay any attention to the subtle ways we are being guided.

Nature has a beautiful way of gently nudging us back to our spiritual truth.  It can help us remember the essence of who we are, magical co-creators of our reality.

It’s often easy to ignore the signs, but sometimes they are so clear we can’t help but pay attention!  It can be undeniable and feel so validating to connect to something more and bigger than our human reality.

Lately, for me, it’s been deer following me around.  It’s not like I’ve never seen deer before, and it’s not like I live in the middle of a city, where there are no deer, ever. I usually see deer occasionally.  I live near a forest and state park, but it is also a heavily populated suburban area.  Deer usually keep themselves pretty scarce around here.

This past week, however, deer have been everywhere I go!  On the trail where I take my daily nature walks, there were a beautiful family of three deer.  The next day, my son saw the same deer family in the forest.  After that, I saw two mor deer along the side of the road, two deer when visiting a friend in her yard, three more along the side of the road on a country drive, and finally this beautiful magical baby deer, that literally followed me.

I have been feeling good, in the flow, connected to my intuition, energized, and able to pivot quickly and be flexible.  This has helped me to be present enough to be in awe of all the deer magic in my life, be excited about it, and allow it to help me expand my energy even more.

When synchronicities pile up like this, it is super fun to look up other perspectives of the meaning of the signs.  It’s also super exciting when the world/internet validates the signs and symbols that I already feel.

As I googled the spiritual meaning of the deer, I felt tingles of resonance all over my body when I read these words “When you have the deer as spirit animal, you are highly sensitive and have a strong intuition. By affinity with this animal, you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. You master the art of being both determined and gentle in your approach. The deer totem wisdom imparts those with a special connection with this animal with the ability to be vigilant, move quickly, and trust their instincts to get out the trickiest situations.”

This was exactly what I had been talking about with the people in my life.  I’d been feeling strong, and excited about any challenges.  Knowing that gentleness is always the best approach, but never losing my determination.  Working to allow my sensitivity and intuition to guide the way for the next steps on my journey.

This deer magic is inspiring me to bring more of it into my life.  The grace, intuition and flexible strength is such a beautiful way to live life if we can connect to it.

Here are some ways to integrate deer magic into your life:

1. Gentle Strength:

  • How can you get things done, while also remaining graceful and gentle?
  • Create some awareness of the areas of your life that you are pushing too hard or feeling harsh or on edge.
  • How can you create more grace for yourself and others in your life?  How can you approach yourself and those in your life with a gentle touch?
  • Gentleness doesn’t mean less strength, it means more.  It doesn’t mean less power, it means more.
  • Life feels so much better and goes so much more smoothly when we can keep grace and gentleness as our priority.
  • We get more done, we feel better, and we remain beautifully connected with the important people in our lives.

2. Intuition:

  • Deer follow their feelings.  They use their intuition to move around in the world, to stay safe, to protect themselves and their families.
  • They don’t hesitate, they don’t worry, they don’t get in their heads and think “Should I really eat this apple, I’m not sure I’m good enough!”
  • They just move and flow through the world, with gentleness, grace and strength.  Trusting that they are being guided and are on the right path, that there’s nothing to worry about.

3.  Flexibility:

  • Deer let things go.  They don’t hold grudges, or ruminate on past decisions, or freeze when it’s time to change course.
  • They don’t hold onto things like we do, they more easily pivot when it’s time to change direction, rather than beating themselves up or feeling scared about moving forward.
  • We tend to hold on rigidly to what we think is the “right way” of doing something.
  • For example, humans think: “If this doesn’t work out, I don’t know what I’ll do”
  • A deer thinks: “If this doesn’t work out, I’ll quickly find another way!”

Be like the deer!  You can do this! Magic, intuition, flexibility, intuition and strength are part of your DNA.  You were designed to flow with life, not against it.

Ground yourself, get out of your lovely human brain, and have fun integrating some deer magic into your life!
